The topic, why Manoj Kumar Singh was not granted an extension is hotly discussed among the bureaucrats in Lucknow. On July 31, Singh retired after 37 years of service. Most of the bureaucrats were of the opinion that letters from Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi and alleged complaints by other ministers played a crucial role in his retirement. It is also alleged that he was bypassing ministers and working directly with the CM.
